Shigure is the dog of the zodiac and the owner of the house where he, Tohru, Yuki and Kyo live. He is a writer who writes both academic books and romance novels under many pen names. His most common and celebrated is "Karitani Noa" from his erotic "Summer-Colored Sky" novel.

He loves to drink tea, eat takoyaki, drive his editor, whom he affectionately calls "Miichan", to tears by feigning the non-completion of his work, sleep late, and smoke cigarettes.

He's a jokester who occasionally gives advice or purposely stirs up controversy for the good of everyone in the end.

The Blog of Shigure Sohma...

one day in the amusement park

I knew I had to take her out today. After a much consultation to Hatori, he agreed. In fact, Hatori recommended that I should take Akito outside for fresh air. It was a big gamble bringing her to the amusement park. But at the back of my mind, I should take her to somewhere different.

When I say it's a gamble, I mean there might be a lot of people and the risk of me transforming is absolutely present. However, it's a risk I'm willing to take. I don't mean to include Akito with this risk; if I turn, I'll run quickly grab my clothes with my mouth and run away. Make way for the cunning Shigure.

Ordinary parks are boring. You won't find anything in the lakehouse. Camping is a bit unhygienic, so it might pose a problem to Akito's health further. Overseas trips are expensive. Movies are indoors. We always go to the Sohma hotspring. And an amusement park is well... an amusement park; it has this certain charm that brings joy and excitement.

I became a bit concerned when Akito didn't want to go at first. But I teased and teased her until Akito tells me that she'll get changed.

It was really fun at the amusement park. I had a great time. The only thing I could remember is that Akito has this very awkward smile when we tried the photo booth. Today was worth the trouble as I found out that she loves the rides in the amusement park. Not those wild rides, like the roller coaster or that ride where you sit and slowly takes you up the tower and then you rapidly plummet down. So we rode the carousel, the bumpcars, the boat ride and the ferris wheel. I was also relieved to hear that she was hungry during lunchtime.

The ferris wheel was fun. I asked Akito if she wouldn't mind going back to the amusement park with me. Akito said she wants to. And now I'm writing in my room with Miitsuru-chan laying loudly on the couch. What is she doing here again?
